Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Agreement to terms

By accessing or using PlayDate at playdatenearby.com and app.playdatenearby.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. These terms apply to all users.

Verified parents and adults only

PlayDate is for parents and caregivers who are 18 or older. You must verify your email before you can join a neighborhood, RSVP, host a meetup, or post. One account per adult.

Children do not have their own accounts. You may add child profiles only for children in your own care, using a first name (or nickname) and an age range only. You agree not to add a child’s last name, birthdate, or other identifying details, and not to create accounts on behalf of other adults.

Account responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Keeping your account information accurate and current
  • Supervising your own children at any meetup you attend
  • Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized access

Public meetups & community conduct

PlayDate is built around public meetups and a neighborhood board - there is no private messaging. The Service is for personal, non-commercial use. You may use it to:

  • Browse and RSVP to public playground meetups for your kids’ age ranges
  • Host public meetups and post to your neighborhood board
  • Manage your family and child profiles
  • Report or block other members to keep your neighborhood safe

Prohibited use

You may not use the Service to:

  • Collect, request, or post personal information about other people’s children
  • Solicit, advertise, or conduct any commercial activity
  • Harass, threaten, defame, or harm any person, or post unlawful content
  • Attempt to contact other families off-platform without their clear consent
  • Impersonate another member, parent, or moderator
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute content from the Service
  • Interfere with the proper operation of the Service

Moderation & removal

Neighborhood moderators and administrators may review flagged accounts, handle reports, and remove members, meetups, or posts. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms or to protect the safety of families using the Service.

Content you post

You retain ownership of content you post to the neighborhood board or meetups. By posting, you grant PlayDate a limited license to display that content to other verified members within the Service. You are solely responsible for what you post and agree that it will be respectful, accurate, and appropriate for a family community.

Meetups happen in the real world

PlayDate helps families coordinate, but meetups take place in public, in person, and at your own discretion. You are responsible for assessing each meetup and for supervising your own children. PlayDate does not perform background checks and is not responsible for the conduct of any member.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PlayDate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service or any meetup arranged through it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and will notify active members of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
